SPSM-AL_21.6.1.0 Release Notes

The El Referral & Placement form was retired and replaced with the same form with a new name Individual English Language Plan. Updated the document to add the following two new sections:

• Second Language Acquisition (SLA) Goals 
• School Interventions

The El Referral & Placement form was retired and replaced with the same form with a new name Individual English Language Plan. Made the following updates on the form to add and move some fields within the document:

• Added Second Language Acquisition (SLA) Goals section.
• Added School Interventions section.
• Moved the following fields to the Identification section:
  • EL Program Entry
  • EL Program Exit Date
• Added the following fields to the Identification section:
  • EL Teacher
  • Classroom Teacher
  • Immigrant status
  • School for EL Program Placement.
• Changed the labels from "No Formal Schooling (SIFE)" to "Student with Interrupted Formal Education (SIFE)" and from "Limited Formal Schooling (SLIFE)" to "Student with Limited and Interrupted Formal Education (SLIFE)" in the Identification area.
• Added new field Long-Term English Learner to the Identification area.
• Realigned WIDA and Other Assessments on the Testing section.
• Added EL Services, Other Support Services, and Accommodations to the Placement section.
• Moved EL Committee Signatures to the Placement section.

Updated the ELStatus keyword table so that the codes match the codes in PowerSchool SIS.

Changed the following field labels on the EL Profile:

• From "Limited Formal Schooling (SLIFE)" to "Student with Limited and Interrupted Formal Education (SLIFE)."
• From "No Formal Schooling (SIFE)" to "Student with Interrupted Formal Education (SIFE)."

Updated the EL profile to capture additional fields that populate from PowerSchool SIS. Added the following fields as an area titled Home Language Survey (SIS) on the EL Profile:

• Home Language Survey Date
• Was your child born in the United States?
  • State
  • Country
• Has your child attended any school in the United States for any three years during their lifetime?

• School
• State
• Start Date
• End Date
  Note: Three rows for School, State, Start Date, and End Date will display.

• What language is spoken by you and your family most of the time?
  • Home Language
• Do you require written translation or oral interpretation of district-level and school-level communications?

• Translation Language 1
• Translation Language 2

• Is your child's native language anything other than English?

• Native Language

• What is the language the student first acquired?

• Acquired Language

Removed the data flow from the EL Home Language Survey document to the EL Profile. This data will now be populated from the PowerSchool SIS and written into the EL Profile.

Integrated the Language fields in PowerSchool SIS with the following fields in Special Programs in the student demographic profile:

• Native Language will map to {Language} in SP
• Home Language will map to {HomeLanguage} in SP
• Translation Language will map to the two new fields in SP:
  • TranslationLang1
  • TranslationLang2

Added an entry for NS1 Non-Return in fall to the Enrollment Exit Reason keyword table.

Added G99 to the GradeTable keyword table so that when migration is done, there is no error for students with G99 as their Grade level.

Fixed an issue with the Personnel Snapshot and Supplemental Snapshots where data entered in the documents was not flowing to the District Personnel Snapshots and Supplemental Snapshots profiles.

Updated the section properties in some of the profiles so that the "Include Fields in Transfer Envelope" checkbox is selected by default. This section property is set within the following profiles:

• Gifted
• Section 504
• RTI
• Preschool
• Services
• State Reporting
• English Learners (EL)

• Updated the Progress Report (Migration) so that the following fields are no longer editable:
  • Goals (Users can not edit existing Goals and add new Goals)
  • IEP Initiation/Duration Dates (From/To)
  • School Year
• Additionally, the Progress Dates, Progress, Extent, and Comments can be edited if a new date of progress is not entered. Only one row of Progress Dates, Progress, Extent, and Comments, will display, and users will be able to add more, if necessary.

Added the following Transition Goals to the Progress Report:

• Postsecondary Education/Training

• Employment/Occupation/Career

• Community/Independent Living

Additionally, the graph option for Progress Reports is not currently available.

Updated the Special Education and Gifted profiles so that when Gifted Eligible for a student is set "Yes," the student shows as "Active." Previously, the student would appear as "Referred."

Fixed an issue in the Special Education Profile, where the "Alabama Alternate Assessment Participation" checkbox was selected "No" by default.

Updated the Case Manager field on the Special Education Profile so that the Gifted Teacher entered on the Gifted profile flows to that field. It will only occur when the student's exceptionality is set Gifted on the Special Education Profile.
