SPEDSM-50053Add buttons removed for General Ed students and Student Profiles
  • Removed the Add New General Ed Student Profile and Add New Student Profile buttons for all users, including the administrator accounts. 
  • All students must be entered in the PowerSchool SIS and integrated to be seen in Special Programs.
SPEDSM-52677Add new Gifted document

Added the Gifted Record of Access to Student Records document. It will be listed in the Gifted category for documents.

SPEDSM-54877Alabama Alternate Assessment Program Participation Decision: Retired

Retired Alabama Alternate Assessment Program Participation Decision document as requested by the ALSDE.

SPEDSM-50407Annual goal and Annual Goal Progress Report sections: Not required for students in grade levels 13, 14, and 15

The Annual goal and Annual Goal Progress Report sections will not be required for students in grade levels 13, 14, and 15 within the IEP document. These sections can be removed if not needed for these students.

  • Corrected data collected on the IEP document in the Student Profile (continued) section for 3-year-old students. 
  • The IEP developed and Implemented by the 3rd birthday field will now be manual entry to accommodate revisions and new documents entered in the program from migration. 
  • A new message will appear if the inappropriate Yes or No is selected. The Yes or No selection for IEP developed and Implemented by 3rd birthday does not agree with the calculation between the student birth date and the IEP start date.

Corrected data flow for the field Final Completion Date of ALL Evaluations on the Notice and Eligibility Decision document. Data flowed the profile field when Reevaluation was selected when data should only flow for Initials.

SPEDSM-51289Electives field will now allow for half credits

Updated the Electives field in the IEP Transition section so that it will now allow for half of the credits, For example, .50.

Changed the Grade Level descriptions to match the codes.

SPEDSM-51350HISTORICAL INFORMATION: Formatting issues when printed

Fixed formatting issues in point 5 Other relevant information within Historical Information in the Referral for Evaluation document. Text entered within the text field for point 5 will now appear correctly when printed.

SPEDSM-51018IEP Services section: Frequency fields are not required in Special Education and Related Services

The Frequency field in the IEP services section for Special Education and Related services will no longer be a required field when the document is in draft, review, or final.

SPEDSM-51125IEP Student Cover Page section: Add second-grade level field

Added a second-grade level field for those student IEPs that will span two grades within the IEP Student Cover Page section. The first-grade level field will default from the student profile with the ability to change it if needed. The second-grade level field is not required and can remain empty.

The Notice and Consent for the Provision of Services document field Results of 1st Attempt will only be required at finalization, and it will no longer be needed for draft documents.

SPEDSM-50312Referral for Gifted Services document: Removed data flow

Removed data flow from the Teacher Advisor field to the Gifted Teacher field in the Gifted Profile of the Referral for Gifted Services document.

SPEDSM-53485Referral for Gifted Services document: Change the document action for two date fields

Changed the document action on the Referral for Gifted Services document, so the date field Date above decision was made can be greater than or equal to the date field Consent received by LEA Date.

SPEDSM-51303IEP Signature section: Removed non-lookup for some signature fields, causing the case manager to be removed from the profile.
  • Removed the non-lookup functionality from the following fields:
  • Special Education Teacher
  • General Ed Teacher
  • LEA Representative
  • Someone who can Interpret the Instructional Implications of the Evaluation Results
  • Is not the case manager?
  • When selected non-lookup functionality was selected for Special Education Teacher and Not Case Manager fields, it removed the Case Manager in the profile.
SPEDSM-51741The Graduation Pathway - Alternate Achievement Standard will only display once in the profile and on the documents.

Fixed an issue where the Graduation Pathway - Alternate Achievement Standard was displaying twice in the profile and the transition section of the IEP document. This was caused by integration with codes that did not match in the PowerSchool SIS. An updated script will also be run to move any data associated with the old code to the new one.

SPEDSM-55655Progress Report (Migrated): Remove data flow to the IEP start and End dates in the profile when finalized. 
  • Removed the data flow from IEP From date and IEP To date on the Progress Report (Migrated) to profile when finalized.

  • Corrected one time script released in November to update data flow from the IEP document to the profile for the IEP Signature and LRE fields. The script in the earlier release looked for the profile fields to be empty. If no current IEP document exists in final status, the profile fields will not be changed.

  • One time script will run to update the following profile fields from the most current finalized IEP document to correct previous data flow from the IEP document and Progress Report (Migrated):

    • IEP Signature Date

    • IEP From Date

    • IEP To Date

    • LRE

SPEDDEV-24107

New Import Layout for Staff Home School from SIS to WorksAt

  • Added new Import Layout "PowerSchool - Staff Home School Import (model)" when enabled, will read the Home Schools for staff and populate the WorksAt field on the Staff profile in PowerSchool Special Programs.
  • A new PowerSchool SIS API plugin is available to download and install in the PowerSchool SIS. The plugin can be downloaded from the following location:
    • In Special Programs, login as Administrator

    • Go to Administration, Configuration, and then create or select a configuration task.

    • Next select Integration, More, and then Continuous Integration Settings.

    • Click the download icon (do not change defaults) and select Generate Plugin files.

    • Scroll to the bottom of the page, select Download PowerSchool Plugin File, and then Save file.

    • The plugin will be saved in your browser downloads.

    • To install the plugin, follow your PowerSchool SIS instructions for installing plugins. If you need additional assistance installing the SIS plugin, please contact PowerSchool support.
      Note: Do not enable the Import layout in Special Programs until the plugin has been installed in the SIS. Errors will occur if the import layout is enabled before the plugin is updated.

  • To enable the new integration layout, PowerSchool - Staff Home School Import (model), follow these steps:
    • In Special Programs, login as Administrator.

    • Go to Administration, Configuration, and then Integration.

    • Scroll down to PowerSchool - Staff Home School Import (model) and select the view button.

    • Create a configuration task or select a configuration task.

    • Select More and then Set Continuous Integration Settings.

    • Select the box next to Enable Continuous Import for Layout and Accept in the properties.

SPEDDEV-21259Add EL field to the export report so it will flow to the PowerSchool SIS
  • Added the EL field Long_Term_Eng_Learner to the PowerSchool English Learner Export report, and it will flow to the PowerSchool SIS.
    Note: This will only flow to the PowerSchool SIS after the PowerSchool SIS API plugin has been installed.

  • The new plugin mentioned in the release note for ticket SPEDDEV - 24107 must be installed. The plugin has been updated for both tickets (SPEDDEV - 24107 and SPEDDEV - 21259), so it only needs to be downloaded one time.

  • An error will occur in the PowerSchool English Learner Export export export if the plugin is not installed in the PowerSchool SIS first.
