Service Plan - Special Considerations and Behavior
The Special Considerations and Behavior section is a conditional, system-generated component of the IEP Document that becomes available only when specific behavioral or contextual criteria are met during the IEP development process. It is designed to ensure that key behavioral considerations are addressed early in the planning process when relevant to the student’s needs.
This section prompts IEP teams to review and document behavioral factors that may impact the student’s participation, progress, or safety in the educational environment. When needed, it serves as a gateway to deeper behavioral supports, such as a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) or Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).
How does this feature work?
Create a new IEP document for the student for the current academic program year. The IEP Document will be open in draft status.
You will get the Special Considerations & Behavior Section.
To validate, open the Behavioral Section. You will notice that Include by Default in New Documents is already selected.
In this section, wherever you were asked to provide a detailed response in the last two sections, you can answer in one of the three ways:
Insert or upload your response from a statement bank.
Narrate and record your response as an audio file.
Write the response as text in the field given.
