SPEDSM-104198

IEP/ISP Documents - Annual Goals

Added the North Dakota Essential Skills 2022 standards/competencies.

The IEPs 3-5, 6-15, and 16-21 are updated to select the Essential Skills 2022 standards/competencies while working on the Annual Goals section.

IEPs Adaptation section, ISP Assessments sections and State Assessment Profile

Made the following updates to the IEPs 3-5, 6-15, and 16-21, Adaptation section as well as ISP Assessments document sections:

  • Changed the wording North Dakota State Assessment to ND A-PLUS.

  • Removed the selections for:

    • Student will participate in the ACT Assessment.

Made the following updates to the IEP Ages 3-5 - Adaptation document section:

  • Removed the selections for:

    • Student will participate in North Dakota State Assessment without accommodations.

    • Student will participate in North Dakota State Assessment with approved accommodations specified in Adaption of Education Services area (Math, English Language Arts/Literacy and Science).

    • Student will participate in the North Dakota Alternate Assessment.

Made the following updates to the State Assessment Profile -

  • Changed the wording North Dakota State Assessment to ND A-PLUS

  • Changed the selections for Students will participate in the ACT Assessment to be ready only.

    • When a new IEP/ISP is created, completed, and finalized, the previous selections on the profile for Students who participate in the ACT Assessment will be cleared, and the ACT Assessment checkbox will not be available for selection as we advance.

Changes made to all IEPs and ISP will apply only to the newly created documents. All existing documents will continue to be in the previous version.

Integrated Written Assessment Report Documents - Evaluation Team Members Sections

Updated the Parent/Guardian name fields to be editable after they flow from the student’s Contact Info profile screen.

Notice of Meeting Document

Updated the document to auto-populate name and address fields for students 16 and older. Once populated, the fields will not be editable. An additional Notice of Meeting document is generated for the case manager to invite the student to the meeting.

Prior Written Notice of Special Education Action, Notice of Meeting, Student Notice of Meeting Documents

Made the following changes to the Prior Written Notice of Special Education Action document:

  • Added a new section Agreement for Immediate Initiation of Action to the document. This section is optional and may be added by:

    • selecting the section when the new IEP is created or,

    • selecting the section from the Sections menu after the new IEP is created.

  • Added a validation to require that at least one action is selected under Evaluation, Identification, Educational Placement, or Provision of FAPE.

    • If no action is selected under any category, show validation message Select at least one action under Evaluation, Identification, Educational Placement, or Provision of FAPE.

Made the following changes to the Notice of Meeting/Student Notice of Meeting/Joint Notice of Meeting documents:

  • Updated the documents to require the meeting purpose section to be completed to save and final the documents.

SPEDSM-101295

Verification of Eligibility to Use NIMAS Materials Document

Updated the document template to the state form version as of the February 12, 2021. The changes will be applied only to the newly created documents. All existing documents will remain on previous format.

Curriculum Updates, IWAR & IWAR SLD/RTI Doucments

Curriculum Updates:

  • North Dakota English Language Arts Content Stds 2017 and North Dakota Mathematics Content Standards 2017 are removed from the active list of standards under Curriculums..

  • The forms IEP for 3-5, 6-15, and 16-21 and ISP will not refer to the 2017 standards for ELA and Maths after this release.

Made the following changes to the Integrated Written Assessment Report and Integrated Written Assessment Report - SLD/RTI:

  • Removed the long text area used for the details of the delay in the initial evaluation. The user will select the reason for the delay from the list of reasons on the dropdown.

  • The change will be applied only to the documents newly created after this release. All existing documents will continue to have a long textbox for user inputs on the delay.
