Merge Duplicate Profiles

Duplicate profiles can occur for various reasons, such as ID, name, or import problems. If you have duplicate profiles, you can merge them into one profile.

Before merging, identify the target and source profiles and note their IDs. Use the profile with the most up-to-date information for the target profile. The merge process will move documents and events from the duplicated profile, known as the source profile, and delete the source profile.

Both profiles must have matching names to merge. In the case of student or staff profiles, both the first and last names must match. You can edit the source profile to correct name differences.

  1. From the Administration menu, click Utilities.
  2. In the Data Utilities field, choose the profile type. For example, Students.
  3. From Select Utility, choose to merge the profile type. For example, Merge Student Profiles.

If this option is not available, you are not authorized to use this utility.

  4. Enter the target profile ID or click Lookup ID to search for the profile.

  5. Click Find.

  6. From the Select source profile(s) to merge into the target list, select the source profiles you want to merge.
  7. Click Continue.
  8. Review the changes.

Once profiles are merged, the source profile is deleted.

  9. Click Merge Profile(s), then click OK.

  10. Click Continue.
