Restore Profile

Log in as a system administrator to recover profiles that have been deleted or purged from the current database.

If you have enabled Profile Archive, you can skip steps 1 to 3.
  1. Click Restore Database within the SQL management studio to restore the backup. Provide a new name for the restored database.
  2. Provide the name of the restored database in the Database field within the Destination section.
  3. Log in to the restored backup database and verify that the profile is there. If PowerSchool is hosting PowerSchool Special Programs, you would be notified when the backup database is available for logging in. You will want to log in and verify that the profile you want to restore is actually there.
  4. Log into the current database.
  5. Select Administration, then Utilities.
  6. In the Data Utilities field, select the profile type (for example, Students).
  7. In the Select Utility field, choose to restore the backup for the profile type (for example, Restore Student Profile from Backup Database).

If this option is not listed, you are not authorized to use this utility.

  8. In the Backup Database School/District ID field, enter the School/District ID of the restored backup database.

The database must be a backup with no subsequent configuration performed on it.

  9. Enter the IDs of profiles to be restored. For example, Student IDs.

  10. Click Restore.
