Expand and Edit the Curriculum Outline
- Select Curriculum > Curriculum Outline.
- Select the curriculum to work with from the Curriculum menu.
- On the Curriculum Outline screen, click Edit Outline.
- Use the navigation icons to display the area of the curriculum you want to edit.
- Use the insert, move/copy, edit, and delete icons to edit the curriculum outline.
Insert Curriculum Statements
- Navigate to the area of the curriculum where you want to insert the new statement.
- Click the Insert icon to access a form for inserting a new statement.
- On the Insert window, enter the statement information. If the outline level you are working on is automatically labeled, you only need to enter a description of the statement. However, if the outline level is not automatically labeled, you will also need to enter the label. Labeling schemes are explained in the Plan an Online Curriculum section.
- Click the Spell Check icon to spell check your description.
- If tags have been created for the curriculum, assign one or more tags to the curriculum statement by selecting them.
- Click Accept to close the Insert window or Accept and Add Another to continue adding statements at this level.
Edit Curriculum Statements
In the curriculum navigation screen, an Edit icon appears next to each existing statement.
When not in edit mode, if you hover the cursor over an item and hold down the right mouse button, a menu appears allowing you to select an edit operation.
- As needed, navigate to the area of the curriculum where you want to edit a statement.
- Click the Edit icon next to the statement.
- On the Edit window, modify the statement, and change the tags as needed.
- After you make changes, click Accept.
- Click Spell Check Statements.
- As the spell checker checks your statements and prompts you for action, make changes as needed.
- Click the Save Spelling Changes button to save the corrections.
Delete Curriculum Statements
You can delete curriculum statements one at a time or in groups. If you delete a curriculum statement that has sub-statements beneath it, the sub-statements are also deleted. Also, any resource alignments and student assessment data for the statements you delete will be lost.
- Navigate to the curriculum statement you want to delete.
- Click the X icon next to the statement to delete it.
- To continue with the delete, click OK on the warning message indicating the sub-statements that will be deleted.
Delete Multiple Statements
- Navigate to the level of the curriculum where you want to delete multiple statements.
- Click Delete Multiple Statements.
- For safety reasons, this option is available only if you have expanded the curriculum more than one level.
- Select the checkboxes next to the statements you want to delete.
- When you have selected all the statements to delete, click the Delete Statements Marked Below button at the top of the page.
