Search for Students

You have two options to search for students: Quick Search and Advanced Search.

Quick Search

  1. From the main navigation menu, choose Search, then select Students.

  2. On the Quick Search tab, enter the search criteria.

    • To search by the student's name, enter the first few characters of the student's last name or first name into the corresponding name field.

    • To search by student ID, you must enter the exact ID.

    • To narrow your results, enter additional search criteria.

  3. Press Enter or click Search.

  4. On the Search Results page, click the appropriate icon for the student to display their profile or documents. Alternatively, click Quick Search in the navigation trail to go back to the search criteria.

Advanced Search

The Advanced Formula Search provides more details on student records.

  1. From the main navigation menu, choose Search, then select Students.

  2. On the Advanced Search tab, enter a selection formula.

  3. Alternatively, select Quick Formula.

    1. On the Quick Formula dialog, select your search criteria.

    2. Use Select Section to select another form to display additional fields from which to select criteria. Once you select criteria from a form, select Update Formula From Form before selecting a new section.

  4. When you are done, click Update and Accept Formula.

  5. On the Advanced Search page, click Search.

Once familiar with formulas, you may be able to type them in directly without using Quick Formula. Alternatively, you can create a formula with the formula wizard and edit the result. Use the fields and function buttons to insert individual elements into the formula.

Search for multiple values

In fields with more than two choices, choose Select Multiple…, then select the values you want to include in your criteria.

Search by date range

When searching by a date field such as Birth Date, specify a range of dates you are interested in. If you leave the end date empty, your search results will include profiles where the field's value equals or exceeds the specified start date. Similarly, if you leave the start date empty, your search results will include profiles where the field's value is equal to or less than the end date you specified.

Search for values using lookup

When a field has a lookup link, you can click the lookup link to find one or more IDs to search for. The search will then find students with any of the specified staff as their case managers.

Customize the search result columns

You can customize the columns on the Search Results page.

  1. On the Search Results page, click Customize Columns.

  2. On the Customize Columns page, select the fields you want to display. If a field you want is not listed, use Filter by Section to switch to the section that includes it.

  3. Click Accept.
