Preschool Settings

The Preschool Settings report in a Special Education (SpED) IEP system is typically designed to track and report on the educational environments in which preschool-aged children with disabilities (ages 3–5) receive special education services. This report is often aligned with state and federal reporting requirements, such as those defined by Indicator 6 of the IDEA Part B State Performance Plan/Annual Performance Report (SPP/APR).

Submission requirements

This report includes students whose data is current during the APR6 reporting period and who do not have a more recent IEP record within the same period. It identifies students for whom no newer IEP exists in the IEPHistories table where the start date of the outer record is earlier than the start date of any matching inner IEP record for the same student. This ensures that only the most current IEP record for each student during APR6 is considered. The report includes both active and deactivated students.
