Special Education Graduation

This report shows the number of students with special education services graduating from high school each year. It helps schools and the state understand whether students with IEPs are reaching the goal of earning a diploma, just like their peers. The report also tracks what diploma they earn (e.g., Core 40, General, or an Alternate Diploma).

Submission requirements

This report includes students who exited special education during the APR reporting period with a qualifying exit reason. Specifically, it lists students whose special education exit date falls between the APR start and end dates, whose exit reason is one of the following: graduated with regular high school diploma, received a certificate, or reached maximum age. Additionally, these students were between the ages of 14 and 21 at the time of exit, based on the difference between their birth date and special education exit date. Only students with a valid school assignment are included in the report.
