Profile: Special Education Information

Added a new field called Placement Percentage under the placement section in the Special Education Information profile. The feature now calculates the Percentage of time spent in a General Education setting on the Student Profile by comparing the time spent in General Education versus other settings based on instructional minutes. This helps users select the appropriate placement for a student.

IEP Document Verbiage Change

The Decision-Making Options for Student section under the Individualized Education Program has been updated.

Previously, the sentence read “Complete for student who has turned 18 or will turn 18 within the IEP period. Please indicate the decision-making option that the student and/or parent(s) have selected:".

The sentence now reads "Complete for student who has turned 18. Please indicate the decision-making option that the student or court-appointed legal guardian has selected:".

The recommendations related to the State and District-Wide Assessments form section labeled "ACCESS" have been reviewed, and necessary changes have been made.

The "Developmental Delay (ages 3-9)" checkbox on the student profile page of the IEP now allows students aged 2.5-9 years to be included. An error message will be displayed if "Developmental Delay" is selected and the IEP Start Date is before the student's 3rd birthday or after the student's 9th birthday.

The name of the agency has been changed from Mass Rehabilitation Commission to MassAbility as per the state guidelines

IEP Amendment Changes

The IEP Amendment has been added to the IEP document and will only be selectable when the IEP is a 'Revision'.

Two new sections, as outlined below, have been added to the end of the sections. These sections will be optional and can be removed if necessary.

  • Individualized Education Program (IEP) Amendment

  • Notice Of Proposed Action - Amendment

The IEP amendment section is intended for a digital signature by parents when the IEP is a revision.

The Notice of Proposed Action attached to the IEP for students older than 18 is missing the student's address, unlike the standalone Notice of Proposed Action and the meeting invite; this discrepancy has now been addressed.

The School ID field in the Administrative Data Sheet section, both in the IEP and the standalone document, now displays the student's Servicing School ID. Accordingly, the label has been changed from ‘School ID' to 'Servicing School ID’.

Profile: Evaluation Due Dates

The due dates for evaluations in the student profile have been modified to consider the date when consent is provided in their calculations.

The calculation of 30 and 45-day due dates for the following fields has been changed:

  1. Date Initial Consent Received from Parent

  2. Consent for Reevaluation Date

  3. Date Additional Evaluation Consent Received from Parent
