Active Directory overview

PowerSchool Special Programs can integrate staff security with Active Directory. This integration supports one or more domains in a domain forest.

There are four levels of integration that can be used once the Active Directory module is installed (refer to the Installation and Management Guide for installation instructions):

  1. Authentication of staff credentials when signing in.

  2. Linking staff security to a user's Active Directory group membership.

  3. Linking staff location (school) access to a user's Active Directory group membership.

  4. Automatically provisioning users in PowerSchool Special Programs based on Active Directory group membership.
