Updated the PowerSchool Staff Import (model) import layout to include the staff’s email address.

IPP Document Compliance Changes

General Changes

1. Removed the option to revise the IPP document.

2. For all sections, all text boxes now display the default stylized toolbar rather than having the user click on the BIU icon.

3. Removed the footer throughout the document.

4. When creating the IPP, the user will not be able to uncheck the required sections of the document.

5. When the user is within the IPP document and the user clicks on the section area, the user can no longer uncheck the required sections of the document.

Cover Page

1. The HomeRoom field is now displayed as Homeroom.

2. In the Information area, the extra spacing was removed. 

3. Within the “Is there a Medical Plan” section, removed the File Name/upload option and Yes/No/NA checkboxes.

   1. Changed the label to “Medical Plan”. Removed the No option. Changed the Yes label to “On File”. 

Strengths, Interests Section

1. Retired the section. This means that the changes in this section will only be applicable when a new IPP is created after these changes are deployed. Opening an existing IPP that was created prior to the IPP changes will not reflect the following changes.

2. The footer was removed throughout the document.

3. Student Perspective link was updated with:  https://curriculum.learnalberta.ca/cdn/resources/m/ieptLibrary/lib01.html.

4. Inclusive Education Library (2 areas on page) link was updated with: https://curriculum.learnalberta.ca/cdn/resources/m/ieptLibrary/index.html.

5. Parent Perspective link was updated with: https://curriculum.learnalberta.ca/cdn/resources/m/ieptLibrary/lib02.html

6. In the “Check off the templates you will need…..” area, the label and all checkboxes in the section are removed. Under the Parents/Guardians area, the valuable source… area, the My Child Through My Eyes Inventory checkbox and label were removed. The sections of the IPP that would be inserted into the document when the user checks the checkboxes have been removed from the IPP.

7. Updated the "Home and Community Perspective" area, replacing the text with “Families provide important insights into their child's strengths, interests, learning preferences, and needs.

   1. Resources to support information gathering and collaborative planning are available in the Inclusive Education Library under Parent Perspective.

   2. Schools may choose to use these optional forms to guide conversations with parents/guardians.”

8. Strengths and Competencies and bottom text boxes (3 total) are now required.  

Assessment Data Section

1. Changed the label Assessment Summary to Assessment Summary/Diagnosis.

2. Re-ordered the items in the grid by date, most recent at the top. 

Present Levels Data Section  Section

1. Retired the section. This means changes in this section will apply only when a new IPP is created after these changes are deployed. Opening an existing IPP created before the IPP changes will not reflect the following changes.

2. Moved the Accommodations flyout section to appear under the Present Levels section. 

3. Changed the flyout description to Present Levels, Goals, Strategies & Reviews.

4. Changed the header to Present Levels, Goals, Strategies & Reviews.

5. Removed the (classroom and informal assessments) wording & changed the description label to “Describe the student's current level of performance in the identified competency area. Include the strengths, needs, and/or barriers that are impacting progress and explain why this area has been selected as a focus for goal development.”

6. Instructional Strategies area was reworded, replacing the existing sentence starting with List 3-5 sentences with “Identify the individualized instructional strategies and supports that will be used to help the student achieve this goal. Include only supports that are directly related to the goal and not already documented in the Accommodations section.”

7. Updated the URL of the bolded word with https://curriculum.learnalberta.ca/cdn/resources/m/ieptLibrary/lib08.html.

8. Flipped the two paragraphs so the first paragraph under the gray Instructional strategies header now starts with “Identify the individualized…….” Then the next paragraph will start with “View the Inclusive Education……” appears.

9. The final IPP checkbox that currently appears at the bottom of the page was moved to the Transition Planning and Semester section. 

Transition Planning Section

1. Retired the section. This means that the changes in this section will only be applicable when a new IPP is created after these changes are deployed. Opening an existing IPP that was created prior to the IPP changes will not reflect the following changes.

2. Changed the name of the flyout to Transition Planning.

3. Removed the text box that appears above Successes.

4. The two areas, Success and Strategies, are now merged into one text box. The new description of the text box is Successes and strategies that worked well.

5. The Areas requiring ongoing support is now required.

6. Attachments area, updated to now include up to 5 attachments.

7. Added the checkbox and label called Student no longer requires an IPP (moved from the Present Levels section) and added to the bottom of this section.
