Amending a Legacy IEP

This page describes the steps needed to create an amended IEP when the IEP was not created in PowerSchool Special Programs, where a student with an existing IEP was migrated from a previous system after July 1, 2023.

Create IEP

1. When migrating to the PowerSchool Special Programs application, a student with an existing active IEP has a PDF of the document created in the previous system.

2. Using the PDF document as a reference, create a new IEP.

3. Enter all required information in the document template from the PDF document, making an exact duplicate of the PDF’s contents.

4. When the document content is the same as the PDF, finalize the document.

5. Follow the instructions for amending an IEP.
