Individualized Learning Plan (ILP)

Overview

An Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) is a locally developed document that outlines strategies, instructional and assessment accommodations, modifications, goals, proficiency levels, assessment data, and EL services, including program model and frequency. ILP must be created for each EL student enrolled in a school or district and implemented with fidelity by all teachers and staff working with the student. ILPs must be reviewed at least annually to reflect language proficiency growth and updated as needed to address student needs.

Create

You can create ILPs only for students who are identified and coded as English Learners (EL). See English Learners (EL) for more details.

  1. Select a student on the Students panel.

  2. Click the Documents icon for the student.

  3. From the Create New Document drop-down list, select Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) under English Learners (EL), and click Go.

  4. In the New Individual Learning Plan (ILP) Setup window, select the year from the For Year dropdown.

  5. To include all the sections, click Select All. To deselect all sections, click Select None. ILP has four sections:

    1. ILP Part 1: Student Information

    2. ILP Part 2: Accommodations and Services

    3. ILP Part 3: Goals

    4. ILP at a Glance

  6. Click New.

You are now ready to review and edit the ILP sections you have selected.
