Individualized Education Program
Introduction
Create an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for a student who has not been identified by an Identification, Placement, and Review Committee (IPRC) as exceptional but who has been determined by the school board to need a special education program or services to attend school, meet curriculum expectations, and demonstrate learning under Regulation 181/98.
Special Program Support Teachers (SPSTs) can create, review, and modify all editable sections within an IEP.
Classroom/Course Teachers and Itinerant Teachers who have a student in their class/course can review all sections of the IEP and edit the program pages.
Principals can review all sections of the IEP.
Intended users
A well-designed IEP serves the following groups of users:
Students with Disabilities: The section is intended for students identified as having disabilities and requires an IEP to support their educational needs.
Parents and Guardians: Provides clarity and transparency for parents and guardians about the educational services and support their child will receive.
Educators and Support Staff: A guide for general and special education teachers, support personnel, and related service providers to understand their roles and responsibilities in implementing the IEP.
School Administrators: Assists in planning and allocating resources to ensure the necessary support services are available and effectively provided.
