Special Education Dropout

This report tracks the number of students receiving special education services who are leaving school without graduating. While enabling schools and the state to recognize trends or underlying issues contributing to early student dropouts, allowing them to offer more effective support and help keep students on track.

Submission requirements

This report includes students who exited special education during the APR reporting period with an eligible exit reason. It lists students whose special education exit date falls within the APR start and end dates, whose exit reason is one of the following: graduated with a regular high school diploma, received a certificate, or reached the maximum age for services. Students included in the report were between the ages of 14 and 21 at the time of exit, based on the difference between their birth date and their special education exit date. Only students with a valid school assignment are included.

Generate report

  1. From the Reporting menu, choose Advanced report.

  2. Click APR/SPPs Advanced Reports, then click Special Education Dropout Report.

  3. Enter a Start Date and End Date for the reporting duration.

  4. Click Update Report with Values.
